5. Adventskalender - Christmases

I remember many Christmases 

As a child I loved it

The small lights, the decorations 

The huge amount of delicious food made by my grandma with love

All the fights and tensions in the family 

And anyway this feeling of home, cosy, warmth

My grandpa happy and in pyjama, always 

Even under the normal clothes, just to be warmer 

I loved decorations so much 

That I used to spend long, cold and dark afternoons decorating 

The Christmas tree, the windows, il presepe, even a tree down the building 

Dreaming of having the possibility to put so many lights like in a Hollywood movie

Once, I went with grandpa to this shop that I really loved

I still remember the smell of the place and the face of the woman working there. I wanted to buy everything!

But this time, grandpa made me a beautiful surprise 

He accepted to buy me some Christmas lights to put outside the balcony 

This one made with big plastic colorful balls around the small light bulb

I was so happy 

I was so thankful

It was and it is a gesture that I remember with a lot of love

All the love I had for grandpa 

And all the love I felt he was always giving me

Yesterday would have been your 97th birthday
